fannish5What 5 storylines/movies have caused you the most frustration?1.
Eye of the Beholder (movie) -- because
deerdancer and I sat through the bloody thing in astonishment, and in the end, couldn't believe how
bad it was. There's also the not understanding McGregor's character and motivation. Only years later did it dawn on me that surely McGregor's character saw that Judd's character may be his daughter or how his daughter could turn out without him in her life, and that obviously this would have been easily apparent if only McGregor's character was played by an actor at least 20 years older than Judd, but if this is not the case, then the movie really is that dumb and ARGH I sat through the whole thing! *deep breath*
2. Fraser/Thatcher (TV:
Due South) -- no no no. Please no. They never seemed sure what to
do with Thatcher. They also couldn't seem to settle on a personality for her, so I pretty well always saw her as just slightly borderline multiple-personality lady. I truly didn't care for her, though, truth be told, I never cared for how most of the women on that show were written. There was a lot of potential for Thatcher, despite the fact that she was played by Camilla Scott, but they really dropped the ball here, and she just got worse when Paul Gross took over.
3. not!evil!Spike (TV:
Buffy, the Vampire Slayer) -- ... *sobs*
4. Severus Snape (book: Harry Potter series) -- the
not knowing for sure is driving me batty. :)
5. Legolas & Gimli (movieverse:
The Lord of the Rings) -- because they had no storyline :( and their personalities were overhauled in a not-good way, the way that Aragorn and Boromir's personalities were overhauled.
thefridayfive:
1. Who was your favourite all time teacher(s)?Ms Lawlis and Mr Burgess
2. What did they teach?Grade 12 drama, and OAC philosphy, respectively.
3. What is your best memory from that class?Hmm. All of grade 12 drama, really, with the exception of the clown unit, because, omg, so not the type of funny I'm good at. That was, like, the only time I was never not heavily featured in a production. </ego> For OAC philosphy, I'd actually have to say the final project -- this massive magazine thing that we did in groups, that we spent all semester working on. I was the layout girl, which meant that I was the only one with real computer know-how, and I had to put the thing together, print it, etc. It was actually a wonderful experience, even if it did cumulate in an all-nighter for me because of the procrastination of my group members, which led to a rotten migraine.
4. Did you ever have a crush on a teacher and if so, who?Mr Burgess omg♥ and oh, Mr Ritchie, who taught history. Mr Burgess was just a sweetie of a teddy bear of a man. Mr Ritchie possessed the forearms of guh.
5. What is the craziest/wildest/weirdest thing you (or someone you know) ever did at school?Wow. I dunno. I guess the biggest risk I ever took in school was for a final project in OAC drama, that I did with
deerdancer and another girl. For some reason, I just couldn't memorise my monologue, which I had even written myself, probably because I was having trouble sleeping at the time, and therefore had no short-term memory. Anyway, I went out, and ad-libbed that monologue, which was about two full pages, and
sang in front of an audience for the first and last time, too. I know, really wild, huh? I'm so boring!
Later, the other drama teacher, who had apparently been watching, approached me to ask if I had written that monologue myself... he said it had sounded professional! Wow.
