From the FAQ:
By default, comment pages display in the site scheme that is used for any system LiveJournal page. For Paid and Permanent accounts using the S2 style system, comment pages will display in the journal's style unless they choose otherwise; however, free accounts, as well as all accounts using the S1 style system, do not have access to customised comment pages.
Great. That confirms my suspicions but doesn't answer my question.
How in the heck do I choose otherwise!?
ARGH!

Date: 2006-01-19 06:51 pm (UTC)If you're asking how to turn off your style and use the generic LJ style for your own comment pages, that's in the customize area.

Click the edit customizations button > first tab, "presentation". There's this option...
Use simple comment pages
This disables customized comment pages even where they are usually available.
