So, the thing about being in the same city, and living in the same house as, extended family is the expectation of having to do stuff with them for holidays.

(I also don't "get" Thanksgiving. I never have. I'm not a traditionalist. I don't understand why there needs to be this excuse to all get together and gorge ourselves on food and stuff. And why people panic and freak out over things being perfect and whatnot, but I digress.)

I'm going to my other aunt's tonight with auntie and uncle; tomorrow, I've been invited to my brother's.

I have to eat turkey two nights in a row and I HATE turkey. Only slightly less than I hate most fish. Anybody want to take my place? Or figure out how to zap me home to Ontario so that I can have Thanksgiving BBQ'd Steak with my mum and dad?

Anybody?

I HATE TURKEY OMGWTFBBQ.

If I'm ever expected to hold Thanksgiving for family in the future, I'm making the biggest fuck-off pot of Thanksgiving Spaghetti anybody EVER saw.

1) TWO MORE SLEEPS TILL HEROES IS BACK. YAY!!!!

2) I have three, count 'em, THREE plot bunnies for SGA fic (one of them being AU). Help??? If, in said AU, these people are actors, and there's a performance of Othello because, hello, Rodney-as-Iago? WIN. But, anyway, if in this AU Ronon's playing Othello, is this fandom going to rip off my head and use it as a chamberpot?

2a) In rewatching "Rising", I can so see how they wanted Ben Browder for the role of Sheppard. I wonder what kind of chemistry he'd have had with everybody. Of course, I think Browder could have chemistry with plants...

3) I dun wanna work today. But on the other hand, oh Lord, I need to escape this house. Mum and Dad made the sudden decision to rip up the carpets upstairs and lay down all new flooring (hardwood laminate tile... things...) and boy is my dad ever a grumpy gus. But I don't want to go to work.

Aw, bless.

My mummy's webpage is up.

She built it in Dreamweaver. It's her first attempt. Maybe send her an e-mail letting her know she did a good job with her first attempt or something?

Captain Jack Aubrey
Captain Jack Aubrey ~ You find yourself in charge,
but then it is not surprising! You know this
ship better than anyone, and your instincts are
sharp for the profession. Your approach is
methodical and unique, employing tried and true
techniques and yet not afraid to take chances
against the odds and conjuring a cunning plan.
Your crew knows this, and they know you are
also a fair and just leader, and they will
fight hard under your command. They dont call
you Lucky Jack for no reason.

Which Patrick OBrian character from The Far Side Of The World are you?

Squee, I'm Russell Crowe ;)

My dad finally confirmed for me this morning what I've suspected all along: he well and truly believes that more snow falls on our driveway and backyard deck than for any other house in the neighbourhood.

Sigh.

16 days.

I'm in the kitchen this morning looking for extra strength tylenol for my cramps. My mom is working on the Saturday crossword. She goes: "Who's Sean Astin?"
Me: "Sam Gamgee!"
Mom: "... Who?"
Me: "From Lord of the Rings." pause. "He's also Patty Duke's son."
Mom: "Ah, so he IS Patty Duke's son. Okay. ... Is Sam the one in love with Frodo?"
