Going through old paper journals, I found this old, old drabble. Some of you may recognise it.

Fairy Tale

RPS. Pairing? It's a surprise.

After slaying three dragons, besting eight knights in jousts and climbing one thousand stairs (he kept very careful count of such things), the knight burst through the heavy oak door, removed his helmet and dropped to one knee. He said, "I have travelled far and braved many dangers to free you." He looked up to drink in inky dark eyes, smooth olive skin and lustrous black curls. "I am Sir Sean. It is my honour to offer myself as your consort."

The fair Prince Orlando heaved a sigh, rolled his eyes, and said, "It's about fucking time you got here."

These are the songs that I have in WinAmp at the moment. They can sorta be seen as a playlist for "Nocturne" (which I truly hope our readers are enjoying so far!). All the songs are atmospheric and moody, and most are a little bit sexy.

All links take you to a YouSendIt download.

Poe - Haunted
Metisse - Boom Boom Ba (for my lovely vamp!Guy -- is just a little bit French)
Sarah Slean - Dark Room (instrumental)
Godsmack - Serenity
Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps
Joseph Arthur - Invisible Hands
The Tea Party - These Living Arms
Mozart - Requiem: Lacrimosa (opera)
Bif Naked - Lucky
Ghostland - Interview With an Angel (instrumental)
Bush - Mouth (Stingray Mix)
Within Temptation - See Who I Am (harder than any of the other songs here, very gothic-like)
Enya - Boadicea (the single creepiest thing in her repertoire. listen to it after watching something scary, or in the dark perhaps -- it can be darn creepy if you're in the right frame of mind!)
Sarah Fimm - Be Like Water (contains profanity)
David Sylvian & Tweaker - Linoleum
Massive Attack - Teardrop
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Overground
VAST - Flames
Mythos - Sirens
Melissa Etheridge - The Different (doesn't sound anything at all like anything she's ever done. Even if you don't like her typical music, it's worth a try)
Daughter Darling - Colorblind (cover of the Counting Crows song)
