To the B5 fans: If anybody's familiar with the song or can *cough*find a copy to listen to*cough* -- what say you I put a season three vid set to Enigma's "Eyes of Truth" on my List of Vids To Make?

I'm watching s3 right now; it's been ages since I've seen about 2/3s of the season. I'm right now halfway through 3.08: "Messages From Earth". B5 had been re-run in syndication on one of the channels locally just as I finished one year of school; my schedule became crazy, alternating days and nights at work and doing things with friends, so I'd often forget to program my VCR (which was a crap machine at the time, and would not let me pre-program several recording times at once), and thus missed most of the season. It stopped airing after it ran season four, too.

Anybody think it's a good idea? The song's a little long; I could probably trim it. Seeing as I'm watching most of it brand-spanking-new right now, if anybody has any suggestions for some clips I could use, I'd be very grateful. I'm thinking of perhaps fading into it and doing from about 3:30 until the end of the song. It's the most dramatic. Though considering there's so much material to work with, I could conceivably do the whole song. And I know the ending is a little odd -- it's one of those songs that fades directly into the one afterwards. So... good idea/bad idea?

"No, I can't see anyone out there looking as very Very Gay as we do. Don't worry."

I think triming the song could be a good idea. With few exceptions, i find that often vids longer than 3 mins tend to repeat themselves. I have only seen B5 season 1, but I hope you'll do the vid, since i love the series already!

Oh, you DO have to watch the rest of the series! Seasons 2, 3 and 4 are really quite remarkable, 3 in particular. I did not care for 5, but I know I'll be getting it so that I can have the entire series.

What's funny about long vids, short vids, and repeating, is that the only vids where I've actually wound up repeating clips or whatnot, are the ones that are really quite short *g* I think the few longer vids I've done -- like "Remember Me", "Dead Boy's Poem" and "Silence" are amongst my best, but I think that has a lot to do with the songs themselves.

About the video: Whatever works best for you. I personally am not a big fan of that song (it's okay, it just doens't really do anything to me) but I'd still be more than happy to get a B5 songvid and the longer the better ;) You have a whole season to work on so I think it could easily fill the whole song, but if you want a shorter one, that's fine, too.

As for what clips to use, I can't really say. I only have the S1 dvds and S4 and S5 on self-recorded tapes, so I can't remember all the scenes the S2 and S3 have. Although I do remember that S3 was definitely one of the best seasons they made. Z'ha'dum was amazing.

Sorry, this doesn't help much, does it? I hope you can make it work, anyway :)

I've managed to find very few B5 vids around. [livejournal.com profile] cruisedirector says she has a few on tape, and would love to see those. Someone seems to have made one set to Sarah McLachlan's "Ice", but it is not available online. I did find one online, but unfortunately, I can't stand the song they set the vid to so have had problems getting past the first 30 seconds :-/

Anyway! I will definitely try to make it work. I need to find some time to sit down after I've gone through the season once to see it all, to sit down and jot notes about which scenes I could use. This will, naturally, require me to sit through the whole thing AGAIN (such a burden! ;)). After that, I suppose I can decide whether or not to trim the song down *g*

Really? I have to admit that I haven't even looked for B5 songvids so I don't know what stuff is available and where. But I do understand that song problem, because I've had it myself sometimes.

Oh yes, it's just so boring to watch something like B5... Poor you ;)

Hmm, this is probably going to sound really weird and feel free to ignore me :) I have one B5 soundtrack cd, Messages from Earth. It includes the main titles of S1 (extended), S2, S3 and S4, and independent "songs" Messages from Earth, Z'ha'dum, Severed Dreams and Voices of Authority. The main titles are approximately 1:30 (the extended one is 3:18) and the other ones 10-15 minutes each.

Aaaanyway, I was just wondering if you'd perhaps be interested in using them/parts of them one day? I'd make B5 songvids myself if I had the talent but I honestly don't have it and most likely never will :/ I'm not trying to force you into anything, absolutely not, but the thought just came to me while I was listening to the cd :) I mean, really, the idea of having B5 videos on B5 music just sounds very fitting.

Too bad I don't have any server where I could upload these so you could download them... Hmm. Email's pretty difficult, too, I guess. I suppose the only way you'd get these would be via snailmail. Gah. Never mind. If you want a copy, just say the word, but you really don't have to. Yeah. I'll be going now, before I sound like a lunatic.
