So I updated to iTunes 7.1.0.59 yesterday at Apple's urging. Please understand, that I've only been using iTunes instead of WinAmp now for about 6 months, since I won an iPod Nano at our staff party in January.

Now, all morning (or at least for the past 10 minutes or so) that I've been listening to some music, every few minutes I get a security alert from Norton:

If you didn't want to look, it's saying that Norton Internet Worm Protection has detected a remote system trying to access my computer, and it's saying that it's iTunes. I didn't use it yesterday after updating except to add a few songs to Hiro (my iPod :)).

This is getting REALLY annoying.

I disabled Podcasts, Radio, Shared Libraries, told it not to look for Apple TVs, disabled music sharing completely... I wonder if I should just turn off the store, too, or something? And it's not even a case where I get the message every time it goes to a new song. It'll pop up during a song. It'll pop up sometimes once or twice during a song, or not at all. WTF!

ETA: just went ahead and disabled the iTunes store, too, and that didn't help; got a message as I was waiting for this to load to edit. Sigh.

Son of ETA: I'm whining because I don't understand what's going on; I'm not really believing here that iTunes has, in fact, installed a worm onto my system. Particularly since I've had iTunes off for the past hour and a half now, and no more alerts. It's something that iTunes is doing that Norton doesn't like. *ponder*
