1.What is your favorite Christmas carol/song?
Carol of the Bells. Being that I flaunt my music downloadage in the face of the RIAA, I have helpfully uploaded my favourite version, which I admit I only found last year.

Speaking of carols, I think it's darn near time for my annual Christmas music post! *writes note to self*

2.White lights or multicolored?
I lean towards the white lights.

3. Do you have a cut tree, live tree or an artificial tree?
We have an artificial tree.

4. Eggnog, mulled cider, or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate. And now that I've been fired from my job, ha ha, and I don't have to feel quite so terribly guilty about making sure to follow the programme to the absolute fullest of my abilities, I think I shall have some this year! Bwah hah.

5. Do you decorate your house with lights?
My dad does indeed do the outside of the house, just a little bit. I'm sure I'd do something tasteful when I'm on my own, too. Though I definitely prescribe to the "less is more" theory!

6. Do you write a Christmas letter?
Not so much. I'm not entirely keen on the whole mass producing one letter to send out to everybody thing, though I think part of that is one of my older (oldest, I think) cousins does that, and it always comes across as "Look how much better our family is than yours, ha ha". *cough*

7. Do you like receiving Christmas letters/photos?
Well, I admit I do love receiving mail of any sort, but I do like cards better, because my family is big on personalising so I get some really lovely cards. :) And, well, [livejournal.com profile] deerdancer's card to me is always a letter anyway, but that's the way we are. I also always get pictures of my sister's kids (one of my nephews and my niece) every year, so I look forward to that.

8. What is your favorite Christmas story/movie?
Mickey's Christmas Carol (whyyyy is this not on DVD yet, Disney, you jerks) and A Charlie Brown Christmas.

9. Have you ever made a gingerbread house?
*snigger* Oh, I should scan those pictures and postthem.

10. Poinsettias or holly?
Poinsettias.

11. Do you display a nativity scene?
We have one. I have no say in it. I've tried to very gently tell my mother to leave it to my brother or sister, and not to me. Sorry, Jesus.

12. Do you bake Christmas cookies?
Shortbread! Yay! Shall have to post my recipe, too.

13. Ham or turkey?
O_o No thank you. Cornish game hen for me!

14. In what languages can you wish someone a Merry Christmas (without cheating)?
English, duh, Spanish and French. I can't remember the German, sadly. Oh, does Pig Latin count?

15. Do you know all the words to Jingle Bells?
Yes, actually. I imagine we're talking about the verse with Miss Fanny Bright and getting upsot that it seems not everyone knows?

16. Do you put presents under the tree?
No. I put them on the roof and laugh at [livejournal.com profile] sara_elf, [livejournal.com profile] deerdancer and Mum and Dad have to go traipsing through my Obstacle Course of Doom™ to get their presents! BWAH HAH!

No, seriously, yes, I most certainly do put presents under the tree. That is the place for presents, as far as I'm concerned.

17. How do you eat a candy cane?
I give it to someone else. Well, unless it's a cherry-flavoured candy cane.

18. What is your biggest holidays pet peeve?
I'm going to sound like a bad liberal here, but the whole political correctness movement and how it's divided all the different cultures even more and I can't really properly explain my thoughts on it, but... yeah.

19. What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
Well, it used to be getting up, having breakfast, opening presents with my parents, having a shower, getting dressed, going in to work* laughing that I don't have to get roped into helping cook Christmas dinner, coming home, getting out of my work uniform, sitting down at the table to eat, helping with the dishes, spending quality time with my parents, playing with all my lovely new toys, going to bed.

Last year was the first year in seven years that I didn't do that. But basically, my favourite tradition was really just how I spent the day, it was perfect.

20. What was the best present you ever got for Christmas?
The portrait of Boromir that Sara drew for me... gosh. Three years ago? Four? He's right above my computer and I can look at him all the time! :D

*I used to work at a video store. Around here, at least, video stores and movie theatres have always pretty well been the only places open. There are movies that open on Christmas day, yes, and somehow I know there's a way to find a list on IMDb but I'm too lazy to look it up. Anyway, yeah. This is still a multicultural society, so we'd get lots of people who didn't celebrate Christmas coming in to get movies to keep themselves occupied, and lots of people bringing in their kids to rent games for the new system they bought, etc. It wasn't busy, per se, but we were never actually sitting on our asses. Especially if Boxing Day or the 27th were a Tuesday -- we'd have new releases to prepare! Anyway, I ramble.
