Date: 2004-10-14 06:57 am (UTC)I have to say I was completely blown away by this particular chapter. The pyscological warfare between Lucius and Snape was just amazing. Especially the scene where Snape is screwing Lucius and all the while Lucius is mocking him and taunting him. Its as though the fact that he is the "bitch" means little and though he is in a "vulnerable" position he is still very much in charge. Or so he thinks.
The impression that this gives me is that these two men are trying to rip each others heart out. Though neither one is sure of a victory they still go at it without remorse. I enjoyed how it appeared on the surface that Lucius had won but there was still the feeling that the "loser" ultimately has the upper hand.
The ending as well was beautifully done, with Snape returning home battered and bruised, to be comforted and tended to by Lupin. It was so touching and sweet but also dark a reminder of what is yet to come for these two lovers.
I admit I look forward to seeing the great battle but at the sametime I'm dreading it just because it feels like it will mark the end of this wicked tale...
