Hearing the Polkaroo talk is still wrong. So very, very wrong. *weeps for childhood*
* * *
Of note to Canadians, but particularly to
deerdancer (omg where are you *weeps more*) because she's never home and god knows I'd probably forget by the time I talked to her anyway:
This fall, on Bravo! Inside the Actor's Studio is airing shows that were on in the US this past season. Two dates to watch for:
October 10 - Russell Crowe
November 28 - Jude Law
* * *
Otherwise, I have nothing to say, particularly since nobody reads this anyway. Off to clean!

Date: 2004-09-16 04:34 pm (UTC)Polkaroo. Oh, how to explain the Polkaroo! Okay. So it's from a Canadian children's show called "The Polka-Dot Door". There would always be two hosts (I think there was always a man and a woman), though there were several, only ever two at a time. There was this thing where one of the hosts would go away, and then this big kangaroo-thingy would show up. It was the Polkaroo. The Polkaroo only ever spoke by saying "Polkaroo!" and the remaining host would translate. The Polkaroo NEVER SPOKE.
Of course, it was always the "off-screen" host in the Polkaroo costume, and then the Polkaroo would leave, and the person wearing the costume would return and be all "Oh, I missed the Polkaroo AGAIN?" And yeah. There were also these four stuffed toys -- a bear, a doll, and a Humpty and a Dumpty -- so what the creators of the show did, was make a show about these four toys as actual characters (big, big costumes, of course) and then the Polkaroo showed up -- TALKING. It was horrific.
