1. When did you first become a LOTR fan?: When I was twelve. Brother handed it to me and said "READ IT" two years after he did the same with The Hobbit.
2. Have you read the books?: See above.
3. Seen the movies?: Duh.
4. What is it that you love about LOTR?: The characters. How no matter what else is going on, Tolkien's characters were more important than the battles and everything else. Too bad it sometimes seems this point had to be swept to the side for the movies, but I don't blame Jackson for that so much as I blame modern movie audiences.
5. How many times did you see each of the movies: In the theatres? FotR: Six or seven times, I don't really remember. TTT: Three. RotK: Twice so far, once more on New Year's Eve with Sara. Maybe a one or two more after that -- depends. I have lost count of the total number of times I have seen FotR. TTT I have probably only actually watched seven times in total. Ultimately, I really don't like TT all that much.
6. Times you've read the books: Five.
7. Just how obsessed are you with LOTR?: Um, a lot. Really. Trust me on this *G*
8. Can you speak elvish? Well, okay, maybe not THAT obsessed...
9. Did you dress up for any of the movie premieres: No.
10. Most memorable moment as a fan: Ooh, I'm a lameass: seeing Sean Bean ride into Rivendell as Boromir for the first time. Seriously, my breath caught and my stomach fluttered and it was very embarrassing. *G*
11. Favorite of the books: It's one book! One! Hah. Does that get me out of having to choose?
12. Favorite of the movies: FotR - extended edition
13. Favorite overall character: Gah. Movie!Boromir. Faramir. Book!Gimli. Book!Legolas. Theoden. Movie!Aragorn.
14. Character you find most attractive: Boromir.
15. Favorite couple: Faramir/Eowyn, Legolas/Gimli, Boromir/Aragorn, Aragorn/Faramir...
16. Favorite hobbit: Sam
17. Favorite elf: Glorfindel. Tolkien's Legolas. Jackson's Arwen.
18. Favorite man: Don't make me chose! Movieverse - Boromir. Bookverse - Theoden.
19. Favorite dwarf: Gimli
20. Favorite wizard: Gandalf
21. Favorite orc: Er... pass.
22. Favorite villian: The Witch-King.
23. Favorite horse: Shadowfax
24. Favorite scene from the books: The Houses of Healing
25. Favorite scene from the movies: The chat between Aragorn and Boromir in Lorien.
26. Coolest creature: Probably the Balrog
27. Scariest creature: Shelob
28. Cutest creature: The Pipster. *G*
29. Favorite quote: "They have a cave troll." Gimli waxing poetic over the Glittering Caves. Theoden's speech to the Rohirrim before they charge the Orcs before Minas Tirith.
And
"We have heard tell that Legolas took Gimli Gloin's son with him because of their great friendship, greater than any that has been between Elf and Dwarf. If this is true, then it is strange indeed: that a Dwarf should be willing to leave Middle-earth for any love..."
30. Where would you want to live in Middle Earth?: Minas Tirith, or Edoras
31. What kind of creature would you be?: Well, I think I probably look most like a hobbit *G*
32. What's your weapon of choice?: A sword
33. Are you good/evil/somewhere in between?: I'm naughty *G*

Date: 2004-01-05 03:27 pm (UTC)I think one of the most wonderful parts of fandom and being a FAN is being able to have opinions, to be able to debate -- so long as the debates don't degenerate into absolute arguments and hatred and such. I love analyzing and dissecting the things I love, and am often intrigued by other people's responses and feelings :)
