General naughtiness

And this is further proof that I am completely mental. EDIT 19 April, 2007: This was a wav file that I mashed together, but is now long gone, of Aragorn saying "Come, Boromir" and Boromir replying, "As you wish."
Sara and I watched Two Towers last night -- there are some perks for working at a video store. For instance, being able to bring mine home early. Have pre-paid for it through credit on my account which will be taken off on Tuesday. Ahh. We had a fair amount of fun commenting on the things well-done in the movie, pointing out the stuff that's straight from John Howe or Alan Lee art ("That's Howe!" "There's some Lee!" "Howe!" "Lee!" "WHEE!"), and mocking the things that are just plain WTF? material. ("By all rights we shouldn't even be here!" "No shit, Sherlock!"). Lots of fun made at Legolas' expense ("He is now attempting facial expression number 7...", covering our eyes for the two Stupid Elf Tricks -- the jumping on the horse's back and the thing with the shield).
One thing that seems interesting is that as time passes, I am coming to terms with Jackson did to Faramir. On the other hand, it is becoming harder and harder to deal with the caricatures that are Legolas and Gimli. It's PAINFUL. At least there's some, ah, vague intimations to what Tolkien actually wrote -- they are only interesting when interacting with each other. Doesn't help that Legolas has some really stupid things to do and say, that make it so easy to mock him. I can still, at least, hold on to some tiny, faint glimmer of hope that Jackson will do a little hint of them sailing into the sunset together, as Tolkien said they did. Of course, he's botched up so much so far, that it's highly unlikely.
Oh. Legolas and Haldir fans? PLEASE stop e-mailing me to make a vid about either of them. Please. I am going to make a vid about Elves in general at one point. And I will probably do one or two more silly vids along the lines of "Oh Yeah" or "Hot Stuff" just being superficial eye candy that they will likely show up in. But Legolas and Haldir don't DO enough to warrant an entire video about either of them. Thank you.
Thank you, and enjoy your Saturday.
