I got the latest London Drugs savings event flyer in the mail today.

It features a little girl lying in a field of flowers, obviously dreaming about the items that are floating above her head.

They are:
- A cell phone
- A pink Hello Kitty thermos
- A bottle of designer perfume
- A babycakes cupcake maker
- Herbal Essences shampoo
- A camera

If this was a little boy, he would be, I don't know, sitting in the middle of a sandpit or something butch like that. Maybe riding a tractor! And floating over his head would be more appropriately butch shit. Axe body spray? More gadgets, surely. An XBOX, perhaps.

Really, advertisers? Really?

In other news, just a heartfelt and as-always very late thank you for everyone who has commented to me, everyone who has sent me e-mails, and anyone who still reads my blatherings. Life is hard. Being a grown-up is hard. I'm coping poorly. But I ain't quite down for the count.

That kind of stuff bugs me too, mostly since I don't much fit the mold advertisers seem to think I should because I don't have a penis.

Yeah, I have that problem a lot, too. I like smartphones, sure! And cameras! And cupcakes! And video games and computers and, really, I'm way more likely to want a Star Wars lunchbox than a Hello Kitty one and yes my favourite colour is purple, but I rock the fuck out of blue and green, too, and I like science fiction and comic books and... stuff...

I feel awkward sometimes. Because while I might spend a metric fuckton of money on Urban Decay make up, I spend just as much, if not more, on gaming and gaming shit. So. It's weird.
