Morning Rituals


"Coffee?" Mohinder held a travel mug out to Matt. "Milk and a pinch of sugar."

"God." Matt gratefully took the mug and then leaned down to kiss Mohinder's cheek. "You're the best."

"Ah," Mohinder said. He blinked a few times. "Well, thank you. I mean, you're welcome. Ah..."

Suddenly Matt seemed to realise that he'd kissed Mohinder. They watched each other a moment, as Matt went quite red to the tips of his ears.

"Well, uh," he said.

"Yes?"

"I'm gonna be late."

"Of course."

"So I'm gonna go."

"Naturally."

"I'll see you tonight."

"I'm making chicken for dinner. With that pineapple salsa. And peppers."

Matt grinned. "I won't be late."

"You'd better not."

They stared at each other.

"Well," said Matt.

"You'll be late." Mohinder paused, then smiled as he added, "Detective."

Matt went red all over again. But he smiled back. "Right. So, later, then."

I love guys who can cook. The idea of Mohinder puttering around the kitchen makes me giddy. I bet he's the kind of person who goes "Gee, I wonder what will happen if I add this spice to this and then do that and!"
