ashinae | Acer, anyone? (Reply)

Anybody here ever use an Acer laptop? I'm thinking about getting a laptop for my move to Calgary; I'd need it to last me about a year. If it doesn't actually make it that long, that'd be "fine". I just need it for its portability and compactness and all that. I do not, of course, want anything to do with Windows Vista, so I'd be getting a used one. There's a used place in town that currently actually has a brand-new Acer for about $650, still running Windows XP, and I'm pondering that. I hope they don't have it sold by the time I make up my mind, but I do get paid tomorrow. The specs for the laptop are actually very comparable to my PC.

Lots of people buy Acers at work, people who need a computer for not a lot, and I don't see a lot of those come back. (I see Macs come back because people have never used one and get too frustrated; I see Toshibas come back a lot because they have problems.)
