TMI ahead, for owies.

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] sara_elf, [livejournal.com profile] deerdancer, a few of Sara's friends, and I, all went out to a restaurant in downtown Toronto, for a sort of last hurrah before Sara goes to Japan. We went to Spring Rolls for dinner. I ordered, surprise, a couple spring rolls for myself. And I burnt off the roof of my mouth. I didn't just burn it; I burnt it off. I just... I have no idea. The thing was way too freaking hot, and I was too stupid to spit it back out on the wee tiny plate, and when I finally swallowed the damn thing, all I could feel on the roof of my mouth were chunks of dangling skin.

And now, not-quite 24 hours later, almost the entire roof of my mouth is completely smooth, and it hurts like hell. It keeps bleeding. And it is almost agony to even talk, let alone eat. I could barely tolerate having cold noodles for lunch today! And let's not talk about just how long it took me to eat my oatmeal for breakfast. However, Friday was a Special Day at work (though I didn't go, Sara was more important so my brain couldn't hold that information, too! *g*) and there was still ice cream left over in the freezer. On my two fifteen-minute breaks, I had little styrofoam cups filled with vanilla ice cream. Kind of felt a little better, having that cold cold feeling melting against my owie.

But... OWIE. OWIE!

I was in pain, and I was miserable, and I was hungry. After work, I stopped and got some pudding snacks, and some yogurt snacks, and a wee tub of ice cream. I also picked up some bananas and strawberries, so I can make myself a smoothie for breakfast. It'll be a strange diet, and obviously fat-filled with all the dairy-based stuff I'll be consuming.

And, dear God. I just crave crackers now! Or toast! Or an apple or grapefruit. Grapefruit, yeah, I could probably swallow little pieces of it whole, but OW, citric acid. >.< SIGH.

So, flist. How was YOUR Sunday?

Well, this morning I managed scrambled eggs with melted cheese and ketchup for breakfast! This made me slightly happy. It hurt, but I managed. I'm very tired (this partly due to the nails in the roof popping VERY loudly all night and keeping me up because of the cold) and quite weak from the lack of proper food and nutrition, but I'm surviving. I'm going to attempt soup and some bread for dinner. :) There's a soup that we've got which is basically just a chicken broth base with very small noodles that can just be swallowed whole.

This sounds very promising, but be careful with the soup and noodles so that they are not too hot.
