I fucking hate YouTube sometimes.

I have a perfectly good website that people can go to. A perfectly good website where the FAQ says not to post my stuff to YouTube.

Why won't YouTube post my frelling comments!?

Argh.

Now to modify the FAQ so that the response to "Can I put your vids on my YouTube account?" isn't nearly as nice.

ETA:

Original FAQ statement on YouTube:
Can I put your vid up on my YouTube/Google Video account?
I'm inclined to say no to this.
As a side-note, please don't post anybody's vids to video hosting sites without their permission, and be sure to say where you got it, and who made it. Otherwise, you're passing essentially somebody else's work off as your own, and while I know that everybody lies on the Internet, it's still not at all nice to lie. :)

Revised FAQ statement on YouTube:
Can I put your vid up on my YouTube/Google Video account?
No. Never. Not in a million years will I ever say "yes". Just NO. This website is perfectly good and operational now that I have a reliable host. There is absolutely no frelling need to ever post my videos on YouTube. I know that movie/music studios can find this site, but posting something that has my online pseudonym (look it up if you don't know what it means) on it makes it easier for them to know what to search for and send those lovely cease and desist letters. Don't make it easy for them to find me. "Waah! Ash, you're mean!" Cope. Leave the bloody vids on the website, for the love of Pete.
As a side-note, please don't post anybody's vids to video hosting sites without their permission, and be sure to say where you got it, and who made it. Otherwise, you're passing essentially somebody else's work off as your own, and while I know that everybody lies on the Internet, it's still not at all nice to lie. :)

I am sure you have not only asked YouTube to take it down, but also the person who put your vid up in the first place?
They have no sensitivities about right, wrong and other people's property.
*hugs*

There doesn't seem to be a way to ask YouTube to take it down, which is super, super frustrating. But I have, yes, managed to leave a comment on the vid to ask the person to take it down. I'll give it a few more days, then try again.

It's so frustrating.

That's terrible. :( Unfortunately, yours is not the only fanvid I've seen posted to youtube without the creator's permission. Hopefully people will get a clue by your shiny new FAQ.

I know. And it just drives me batshit insane. I don't understand how people think it's OK.
