It's somebody's birthday.

sara_elf!!!Seventeen years is a terribly long time to know anybody, and spending that seventeen years growing up, and learning, and going through the recklessness and insanity and wildness and heartache and everything that is adolescence with someone is an entirely amazing thing. Outside of my immediate family, you've been that one constant in my life -- you've been family, a sister for me when I haven't known mine, you've been a surrogate sibling for me once my brother left home. You are as family as a person can be without sharing blood. You're a vital, beautiful part of my life, and I can't thank you enough for having stuck by me for such a long time. Words are simply not adequate. I love you muchly.

*points up at picture* He posed so nicely for me. He's trussed up in my basement right now, and I'll keep him safe there till you come home for a weekend. I'm working on Billy -- those Scottish pixie types are dratted hard to catch. ;)

Mar. 28th, 2004 08:55 pmThank you very much to everybody who had sweet birthday wishes! I hope I didn't miss thanking anybody directly -- if I did, I am very sorry! Jo spent the night and we were up until 6:20 and then got up again at noon. Ahh, good times, good times.
I made four new DVD acquisitions over the weekend -- Schindler's List from my parents, and then wonderfully low-priced (used! yay for used!) copies of A Life Less Ordinary, Down With Love and Far From Heaven. Am happy. This should take my total up to about 190 DVDs. Yup.
The lovely Jo gave me a couple very lovely gifts as well, of course. The first, this lovely, leather-bound diary. Swoon! And then, the two froggies on the right -- Frodo and Sam. She bought Merry and Pippin for me a few years ago, and, well, they were still a little incomplete on their own.
So squee! I'm quite pleased. Now, if I knew wheresara_elf is, that would make my birthday complete! Of course, she did send me an e-mail, but an e-mail is never quite the same as being able to talk to someone!

Had happy birthday celebration; received last-ever present from mum and dad consisting of kick-ass new stereo (right here) and the special collector's edition DVD of West Side Story; a very lovely package fromcruisedirector and a very hot Boromir/Arwen/Aragorn story. Rrowrr! From Jo I received a beautiful leatherish, purple journal. I love journals *G* We're waiting for Hard Core Logo to arrive at our store ('twas released on the 25th but never arrived! Waah!), because she is still going to get me that. Received a cheque from my grandmother which will go towards part of the second season of Babylon 5 next month. And finally, best of all, a phone call tonight from my nephew, Michael, my brother, Brad, and his significant other, April. Made my night! *happy smiles*
Have taken a look at my vids, which I have not done in a while. Remembered that I was in the middle of a "Black Celebration" (Depeche Mode) vid. Will need to finish that up over the next little while, then go back to re-editing some older ones -- "The Different" should be next, followed by "Do What You Have To Do" ... so going back to the (very) Boromir-centric stuff. I think I'm doing so many Boromir vids right now, because I will finally be shifting some focus to Frodo/Sam & Legolas/Gimli when I have my copy of TTT to vid to. The poor boy will be neglected! *sniff* (Which just makes my Legolas & Gimli muses smirk, because then Boromir will know how they've been feeling for so long!)
(Which also reminds me that I have never posted either of my Legolas/Gimli stories anywhere but my own website. Maybe I should post them here... am sooo intimidated by the greatness that is the Axe_Bow group!)
But! Until then, I need to work on part four of "Sons of Gondor."
