[livejournal.com profile] sara_elf and I are going to Toronto tomorrow. Just cuz.

I spent several hours today hunched over my desk, going through my monstrous magazine collection. I have probably in the realm of 100-200 magazines, and a subscription to just two (both of which are, heh, free). I just can't believe the amounto f magazines I've bought over the years -- this is largely dating back to 2001 and Fellowship and The Philosopher's Stone. The vast majority are Entertainment Weeklies and anything sci-fi/fantasy related. There's also, though, People magazine's 50 Most Beautifuls dating back to the mid/late 90s. With pictures already cut out (which are probably in a binder or folder amongst the crap on one shelf in my closet). Why in the world did I keep those if they don't have anything in them worth keeping? *G*

Anyway, so there I was, with a staple remover, an x-acto knife, and a cutting mat. Cutting out articles and pictures. I have a pile of magazine pages an inch thick, and a pile of magazines and extra scrap pages about a foot high to throw out. And I'm only about a quarter of the way through. There's another pile of whole magazines about a foot high that I'm going to keep. Wow.

It rained today. Heroes is on tomorrow night. I fixed my Paint Shop Pro last night; no more wonky fonts. And I'm very nearly done a log for Citadel, that I'm writing all by myself. I'm also taking part in the Sons of Gondor fic exchange, 19 days till due date, and I have no bunnies nipping at my heels. Argh. Also, in the next few weeks, my hours at work are finally going to be increased again.

Huh-freaking-zah. Heh.

GIP. OTP.

*ruffles Viggo's hair* Heh. I found that picture in one of my magazines!

I'm so excited for Heroes. And the pretty pretty doctor man.

I'm also getting a wee bit scared about that deadline. Because I keep thinking about my prompt and then going "... Oh hell. What to dooooo!" And then I flail. A lot.

Ooh, Toronto! Should I give you a list of people to look for in your great magazine cut up?

*hugs*

*cough* Well, at this point I don't know if it's too late. Lots of magazines that seem to just have that one celeb interview left, and lots of fantasy magazines. Heh, so I don't know! *G*

*hugs you*

Heroes rocks! I am much in love with it, and Toronto sounds like great fun.

Gee, when you finish the magazine project, would you come over and do that to my embarassingly massive stash? It's one of those projects I never quite seem to get around to.

Gonna take the ol' camera with me, just because. Don't know that I'll get to take pictures of much of anything, but I'll see what happens.

Heck, I'd do it if we lived closer. I'm more eager to organise and fix other people's stuff than my own.

And I'm with you on organizing other people's stuff! I should move closer, we can go into business! *G*

Good idea. Will you and sara_elf be staying overnight? Do tell us all about it when you return.
I feel with you about the magazines. I always think of doing the same and when I finally get around to it, I usually find that I forgot why I bought the magazine in the first place and then throw it all away.
Have a good time!

Nah, just going to go down for lunch and then the afternoon; hopefully back for dinner and then to watch Heroes, our new show.

And, yeah, there've been a couple where I was just thinking "Why in the hell did I buy this!?!" And then there's a few where I've gone through them and found a picture of a celebrity I wasn't aware of at the time. Which is fun. :)

*hugs you*

Toronto! Have fun! I have decided that should I ever get to Toronto I'll buy myself a button with a maple leaf on it at some touristy store or other. :D

I hope you'll be able to take some pictures.

And Heroes, mm, I need to check it out. I've heard only good things about it so far.

So good to hear you cheered up and animated! Have a great time... and pass on my regards to madam S ;p

BTW - was clicking through downloaded files the other day and ideally browsing - I watched Hazy Shades of Winter and Paths of Desire - dang, but they're good! Your cuts at '...look around...' are excellent, and the subtext you developed is soooooo... just so! ;)
