Just spammage.

[livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive:

1. What is the first book you remember reading?
Hop on Pop, by Dr Seuss. Yes, I am still bitter that my parents gave away my Seuss collection. And my Munsch collection. *bitter*

2. What is your favorite book?
Ack, I have to choose? Possibly The Power of One. Or To Kill a Mockingbird.

3. Who is your favorite author?
Again with the choices! Patrick O'Brian, David Eddings, JRR Tolkien, Michael Ondaatje...

4. Pick up the nearest book (magazine or any available printed material will do). Turn to page 24 (or the closest to it). Go to the 7th line. What is it?
". . . else, and keep to very short sentences, people who" -- Eats, Shoots & Leaves: The Zero Tolerance Approach to Punctuation, Lynn Truss

5. If you could be any character in literature, who would you be?
Faramir. Whilst the angst is a bit high, look at who he gets to shag! *EG*

And gacked from [livejournal.com profile] anasthezea:

1. Go to mapquest.com.
2. Click on "Directions".
3. Enter your current address and the address or city of your childhood home.
4. Put the time and distance in a post like this.

Total Est. Time: 36 hours, 14 minutes
Total Est. Distance: 2145.34 miles

Also? This site wants me to go down through the US, then back up into Canada. Exactly how many hours would have to be tacked onto that for trying to cross the border, twice? If I ever decided to drive all the way back to Calgary, you can bet your sweet butt I'd go through Canada. Would probably take just as long as going through the US + border crossings.

Though every time I read about politics in Alberta, I cry a little. *looks apologetically at [livejournal.com profile] caras_galadhon. I don't even want to attempt to discuss politics with my family! They'd probably look at me like I'm a heathen for being as left-leaning as I am.

Where's my pity? I'm locked in the "notwithstanding" province too!

Meep! *looks apologetic again and pets you* I'd forgotten! I'm terribly sorry.

Heh. No worries. I cry too. Or rather, I stand in my livingroom and threated Good Ol' Boy Ralph with physical violence. Um... Of course, if you ever hear that I've been arrested for assaulting Klein, I've been framed, ok? ^_~ Wasn't me. Was my doppelganger. I'd never do anything like that, officer, I was at home the whole time.

Like I always say, I love this Province, but the politics drive me batty. Goddamn redneck conservatives. *sigh* It's depressing that because of our mad, idiotic leaders and the stupidity and fear of a heck of a lot of the voters the rest of the country laughs at us. I just hope they remember we're not all scared fundamentalists sitting in our cabins stroking our guns. O_o

I'll vouch for you if I discover you've been arrested, I promise! :D

Also, I don't laugh at Alberta. I mean, it feels not-nice, because my entire family save for my parents, two cousins and a cousin-in-law (is there such a thing?) all live there. It just kind of makes me sad.

Hee! Thanks!

*nod* That's nice to know, anyway. There's just this sense, when I listen to other parts of Canada discussing Alberta, that we're seen as a province of crackpots, and it's frustrating, because it's not all of us, it's just this really irritatingly loud bunch who happen to have their fingers in gov't.

It just kind of makes me sad.
I'm sorry to hear that. *hugs* I can absolutely understand. -_-
