The Fellowship at Pooh Corner

This is something that springs to mind occasionally, that sprang from a silly conversation with a silly person, shortly after the Fellowship EE came out (yes, this is THAT OLD). We were squeeing amongst ourselves over the meet-the-cast sort of segments, particularly anything that had to do with Viggo and Sean Bean, because, well, you know, they're Aragorn and Boromir and all.

So somehow the conversation veered into the direction of me commenting that Viggo is OBVIOUSLY Tigger, what with the pouncing on (or rugby-tackling) Sean Bean.

V-I-double-guh-Oh! That spells VIGGO!

So --
Sean Bean = Winnie-the-Pooh
Viggo Mortensen = Tigger

Therefore --
Orlando Bloom = Piglet
Sean Astin = Kanga
Elijah Wood = Roo
Dominic Monaghan = Rabbit
Billy Boyd = Owl
John Rhys-Davies = Eeyore
Ian McKellen = The Narrator

And, of course --
Peter Jackson = Christopher Robin.

You just made me smile :)

Oh, that's adorable! *cuddles them all*

Have you read "The Tao of Pooh"? One of my favourite books. And of course the sequel, "The Te of Piglet". *g*

"While Eeyore frets... and Piglet hesitates... and Rabbit calculates... and Owl pontificates... Pooh just is." :-)

Oh that's cute! Brightened up my day :)

So what you're saying is that he's a Bean of Very Little Brain? And Viggo's arse is made out of springs? *grin* Hmm... I think I can agree with that...

*giggle* Thanks... this is wonderful!

*giggles*

Yup. Perfect casting. :-)

*laughs*
This is great.
Um. *waves* Hi, I saw you on [livejournal.com profile] mandc_icons, and I had actually seen some of your vids before, and I really liked them and anyway, you seem like a cool person, so I am hereby friending you :)

[identity profile] kortirion.livejournal.com 2004-04-26 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
*G*
Oh - that is perfect! The casting is dead on for the Hobbitses, not sure Aragorn isn't a tad too introspective for Tigger - I might sort of mentally reverse those roles for V&S - but it's funny, very funny!:)

And another thing - Nelly Furtado - as my musical adviser [having introduced me to Sarah M] I was planning on buying the Folklore CD - worth it?

[identity profile] ashinae.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
Then my work here is done :)

[identity profile] ashinae.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I absolutely LOVE "The Tao of Pooh". It is also one of my absolute favourites. I'm actually a rather shameless Pooh fangirl. I should have a Pooh icon, now that I think about it.

[identity profile] ashinae.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yay! I am glad it did :)

[identity profile] ashinae.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
he's a Bean of Very Little Brain? And Viggo's arse is made out of springs?

LOL! Oh, inDEED!

*tigger-pounce!*

[identity profile] ashinae.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, of course :)

[identity profile] ashinae.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, I'm glad you liked it *G*

And hi! Yay new people *g* I'm really actually remarkably boring, but I don't mind being friended. Shall friend back. :) (Shall also have an M&C vid or two in the works over the next several weeks, in case you're at all interested...)

[identity profile] ashinae.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, but Viggo is INSANE. Utterly insane. And he jumps on Sean, so it really rather does fit ;)

As far as Furtado is concerned -- "Try" is actually the first song of hers that I have actually liked. I have not yet listened to the rest of the album. Does the UK have any music stores with listening booths or anything like that so you could sample it? Might be the best thing you can do!

[identity profile] kortirion.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Oh not insane - not really - just a touch twisted and a little warped at the edges!
I know just how he feels!;p

Shop called Fop has a 'suck it and see' policy, will make sure I buy it there - thanks.

*grins*

Brilliant.

(Shall also have an M&C vid or two in the works over the next several weeks, in case you're at all interested...)

Ooh yes, very much so :) I only very very recently discoverd M&C - a friend of mine told me about it and it sounded so good that I finally gave in and got the DVD, and watched it last Friday. Which I shouldn't have because in about 7 hours I have exams and actually, the thing I wanted to think about most was M&C (or Jack/Stephen). Oh well. As soon as it's over, I can also finally read the book. So, yeah, I'm definitely interested.

[identity profile] ashinae.livejournal.com 2004-04-27 02:13 pm (UTC)(link)
*giggle* Why thank you :)
