I didn't necessarily take it in a bad way. I took it more in the "don't be obnoxious about being smart" way. You can be a genius and be proud without being a keener like Hermione, trying to answer every question.

Just my take on it, though.

Hi you. How ya doing? :) I know this post and comment are from like a year ago but I have decided to try to do, y'know, things. And be responsive and active and a better friend and all of that.

And I can totally see your POV here, now, many months removed from reading the offending quote. Which still kiiiinda rubs me the wrong way, but when I look at it that way, it's better.
